FAQ

What is a feedclowd.com?
feedclowd.com is what we call a "life aggregator".
What is a "life aggregator?
Well, I'm glad you asked! All over the web you are putting you life up for all to see. You put your pictures on Flickr. You are telling everyone what your doing on Twitter. You are bookmarking cool sites on Del.icio.us. Wouldn't it be nice to clump all those things together? Well, that is what a life aggregator does.
What is my clowd?
Your clowd is your life online. When you add all your feeds, your clowd will represent your presence on the web.
How do I add feeds to my clowd?
Go to "Your Feeds" and click add. Right now for the alpha, you will need to know the exact url of the feed. Paste that url into the form and hit go.
Does this work with Facebook?
Yes, but Facebook makes it stupid hard to find your status update feed. You can find your status feed buried deep inside your mini-feed page. Instructions are detailed here
Why are you releasing this as a beta?
We are strong advocates of open source software. So much so that we follow the "Release Early, Release Often" model. The benefits to that is that feedclowd will adapt to what it's community needs not what we think the community wants. It also means that beta really means beta.
When you say that you're strong advocates of open source, does that mean you are going to release this as open source?
Yup, we plan on releasing the source code very soon. We feel no good ever comes from closed source. Don't believe us? Here's our development site watch the new features manifest.
Are you insane? You're disclosing everything!
Maybe. We'll see. I probably won't get funding, but at least the site will be what the community wants.
Hey! that's not how you spell cloud.
Well, that's because it's web 2.0 bucko
Wait. Why are you saying "we", I know you're just one guy, Eric Moritz
It's the royal we.
Do you own an iPhone? This site looks a lot like the iPhone UI.
No. I don't own an iPhone, and I'm not a designer. I just threw some things together in Inkscape, added some gradients, and *poof*, I made something totally unimaginative. This site does look pretty nice on an iPhone though, due to it's fluid design.
I still don't get it.
Well, I don't know what to tell you. Go play with del.icio.us, Flickr, Youtube, and Twitter. When you think, "Man, I wish all this stuff was in one place, come back to feedclowd.com.
